One of the major achievements in 1983 was when Christine Burns took the A Grade
team to the Victorian Netball Championships in Melbourne (as the Bellarine
Association decided not to send a representative team).  This competition
included the best netball teams from all over Victoria, in which our local
Leopold team finished in 3rd place.  The section they played in was Major A
Grade which was the equivalent to being ranked 3rd in Country Victoria.

The first game under lights in BFL for premiership points was played on Saturday 14-5-1988 when Leopold, 19-11-125 defeated Newcomb, 15-14-104. Leopold played in Gold shorts and socks to mark the occasion.
