IS it time to call stumps on Newtown & Chilwell's finals prospects?
Although the Eagles have had one of the toughest draws thus far, the first five rounds of football have yielded only one victory and it's hard to see how they will claw their way back.
They simply were no match for Leopold on Saturday, as the Lions continued their rich vein of form to record a 56-point trouncing.
Although still flying under the radar, Leopold has been irresistible so far and coach Aaron Greaves hasn't put a foot out of place.
Matt Miller was again outstanding and is proving to be the recruit of the year for the Lions. The small forward setup is creating headaches for the opposition, with 10 players kicking goals.
For Newtown & Chilwell, Robert Condy and Daniel Orr battled hard all day, but something is missing from the side that pushed for a finals berth last year.
The task gets no easier next week when they face South Barwon.
Simon Sutterby and co. must find a solution fast or it could be a long year.
